Animal Chiro: What to Expect
A Letter To Future Patients:
Dear Pet Parent,
Thank you for choosing Agape Health. We look forward to meeting you and your pet. Together, we'll make sure they stay healthy and happy throughout their life.
Before coming in for your first visit, we ask that you please gather any previous medical records you may have for your pet. Dr. Bradshaw needs this information to get an accurate record of your pet's medical history and to create the best treatment plan for your pet.
When you visit Agape Health, please bring your pet in a carrier or on a leash. This will prevent any incidents with other animals that may also be in the lobby.
When Dr. Bradshaw examines your pet, she will take the time to listen and ask questions so she can understand your concerns about your pet. She will also perform a thorough physical examination of your pet - checking their range of motion, Panniculus reflex (if any) and organs if coming in for a nutrition response testing.
We are excited about meeting you and your pet at Agape Health. We always make every effort to provide the level of care that you and your pet deserve.
Should you have any questions about your upcoming visit or procedure, please do not hesitate to call our office phone at (702) 410-5354 or email us at Info@agapehealth.net
What to Expect on Your First Visit
Fill out intake form for your pet.
Meet Dr. B and assistant.
Talk about what the main concern is for your animal.
Dr. B will explain all the techniques and reasons of what she will be doing to your pet and why.
Dr. B will explain in detail what she will look for every visit and what she expects to get out of each treatment.
Dr. B starts by testing the range of motion for all limbs and the neck.
Dr. B will look for a *panniculus reflex* by sliding fingers down the spine (Pain response)
Once full body examination is finished Dr. B will then start treatment
Treatment starts with using the information from the examination to know where to start.
Dr. B starts off with the *Graston Technique*- Provides better blood flow through the muscles and loosens up tight tissue that could be restricting your pets range of motion causing them discomfort or pain.
Once graston is used in the appropriate areas/needed areas Dr. B will then go into making adjustments as needed. These adjustments are made by hand or a tool called the *Activator*
Activator is a tool that is used mostly for the specific adjustments that Dr. B would not be able to do with just her hands if she needs a specific newton of force on that adjustment.
After each adjustment Dr. B makes she will then recheck everything to make sure the adjustments are increasing the range of motion and comfortability in the animal.
Once Dr. B is done with the treatment she will then have an idea of when the next time your animal needs to come in for a recheck to make sure everything is continuing to improve.
Depending on your pets issues they could be coming in at least 3-4 times.
